Wyonegonic, a pioneer in camping history, was established in 1902 by Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Cobb, educators long interested in the training and welfare of girls. A perfect setting was found in Denmark, Maine among cathedral pines on the shores of a beautiful lake nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains. This natural wonderland secluded from civilization has filled Wyonegonic campers with inspiration and sent them into the world strengthened in mind and body and enriched with lasting memories.   (excerpt from 1941 Wyonegonic Brochure)
