Leave No Trace Trainer

Instructor: Chris Wentworth, Master Leave No Trace Educator

Purpose: The American Camp Association has recently partnered with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics to update the ACA’s Outdoor Living Skills curriculum. Through this nationally recognized training, you will be able to demonstrate and teach state of the art minimum impact techniques and outdoor ethics to youth, adults and community groups. This course is ideal for Trip Leaders and Outdoor Living Skills counselors.

Dates: Monday June 11th starting at 10am  - Tuesday June 12th finishing at 12pm

Cost: $75

Prerequisites:

  • The minimum age for this course is 18 years old.
  • Participants will need to bring their own personal gear for a one night backpacking trip.
  • Wyonegonic will provide food, tents and group gear.
  • Participants should have some camping and backpacking experience.
  • Prior to the course, each participant will prepare a 20 minute experiential teaching session related to one of the Leave No Trace principles. When you receive your confirmation, you will receive a listing of presentation topics.

Participants will receive the following:

  • National Leave No Trace Trainer’s certificate
  • Leave No Trace bumper sticker and reference card
  • Training materials and guides
