Kiyi! I am Abbey and I am thrilled to be returning to Wyonegonic for my third summer as the Intermediate Unit Director! This summer will be my 19th summer at camp. I started as a staff child in Pooh Corner, was a camper in all three units as well as a CIT. I returned in college as a Junior cabin counselor and then again from 2009-2011 as the Leadership Training Director. I absolutey love spending my summers at camp working with the young women in our Inty unit. I can’t wait to wake up each morning under the pine trees anticipating the fun activities for the day, listening to the chatter and laughter of campers throughout the day, closing each night singing songs in evening circle, and most importantly connecting with all the staff, campers, and families of Inty Camp this summer.
During the off season I live with my young family in Denver, CO. My two boys, Russell (5) and Clark (3) join me at camp in the summer as “Pooh Corner” campers while my husband Ryan visits several weekends throughout the summer season. I have been in education for the past eleven years. I taught middle school English and history for six years in Oakland, CA and most recently worked at the district level managing several programs aimed at supporting brand new teachers. When not working or at school our family enjoys getting up into the mountains around Denver, traveling to visit family around the country, playing board games, and swimming! We are all looking forward to packing up and heading East very soon for a wonderful summer on the shores of Moose Pond!
