The daffodils are sprouting from the ground, the robins have appeared, and I am starting to dust off my “summer clothes” bins. I am excitedly preparing for the journey north to the shores of Moose Pond and Wyonegonic. I could not be more eager to be returning for my 5th summer. Previously, in 2009, I served as an Ecology Instructor and then moved to the Outdoor Living Skills supervisor role in 2010, both for Inty Camp. During my time away from Wyonegonic, I have worked as a Camp Director for Camp Skymeadow within Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania. There, I have developed and run our backpacking programs and focused on training staff and volunteers in areas like lifeguarding, canoe and tree climbing in addition to running our resident programs in the summer months.

The smell of the pines and the peace of the grove has not escaped me, this summer I will return as the Senior Unit Director. I am thrilled to get to work with our new and returning staff and campers from around the world. It is a personal passion of mine to help to foster connections with nature and to find enjoyment and wonder in everyday life. I cannot wait to share that passion with the Wyonegonic community through the fun and fantastic opportunities available to us this summer.

When I’m not in Maine, I live in Pittsburgh, with my three year old beagle named Hugo. He and I both love going on hikes and he especially enjoys chasing anything that moves. It won’t be long until we’re all singing beneath the pines. Kiyi and see you soon.
