Available Trainings

Wyonegonic certification training opportunities are open to Wyonegonic staff, staff from other camps, or individuals. Training certification policies, links for online registration, dates, and details on each training can be found below.

Archery

USA Archery Level 1 certification is offered through the New England School of Archery and Supplies. This training helps improve the safety and quality of archery instruction to individuals and small groups in a camp setting, reviews archery techniques, and much more.

Canoe

We offer canoe instructor training through the American Canoe Association: Level 1 Introduction to Canoeing Instructor Certification Workshop (ICW, ICE). A one-day Introduction to Canoeing is included in the training, helping participants review paddle strokes before the intensive Instructor Workshop.

Challenge Course

We offer four challenge course trainings: low ropes facilitator, high ropes facilitator, challenge course facilitator, and climbing wall facilitator. These courses are offered through Adventure MAS and meet the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for Ropes Facilitator Training.

Outdoor Living Skills Staff Workshop

Camp staff who are teaching Outdoor Living Skills and Campcraft are encouraged to attend. Join us as we intertwine curriculum review of the skills and skill levels as introduced in the resource book Art of Outdoor Living. Camp staff teaching curriculum for Junior Maine Woodsman, Maine Woodsman, and Junior Maine Guide will find this particularly helpful.

Other Training
